Well Done! Perhaps increasing the dose or frequency of liquid tomato food will make the others taste sweeter. :-)

Thanks Hywel! Thanks David! Ridiclulous to be so chuffed about a red tomato I know, but new to gardening and especially to eating what we grow! I have been feeding the toms once a week, do you think I should do it more often?

Oh yes, Liklymac, In addition to daily watering, I've always added liquid potash tomato food to the water every other day, or 3 times a week! I Do this for toms, cukes, peppers, courgettes, etc.Even doing this twice a week should help with the taste, next time you succumb to your lovely toms! :-)

OMG no wonder they don't taste good!! Will get the feeder out right now cos I've got another six plants going with loads of flowers but not many toms. Told you I was a beginner! Thanks for your advice David x

I think that amount of heat they get makes a big difference in taste as well. We hardly feed ours at all, but they get lots and lots of hot sun and they taste delicious! Ours aren't ready yet, but they will be coming soon :)
