House Leeks

House Leeks

I re-potted these last year, and they did well during the growing season. But they did not over-winter well, and it looked like they were rotting. So I re-potted them again, into cacti compost and they seem happier now!

Hi did you add anything else to the cacti compost and how shallow can the dish be?

These are in a 'bulb bowl' but as they are very shallow rooted and came from the roof of my Grandad's porch, (they are 50+ years old!) I guess they would root in next to nothing!! I did not add anything else to the compost.

They suffered from the very wet weather we had in July, but are picking up a bit now. I had to move them to protect them from the elements!

Have you some you are planting?

Nice combination with the Heuchera behind too. :-)
