Hello D1! it is lysimachia ciliata...firecracker. however...this clump came from another where the foliage was the bronze colour...this clump however does not have bronze foliage...same flower! never realized how many plants there are in the Lysimachia/lythrum genus!! It is a tall perennial these plants are almost 3 ft tall... makes a lovely burst of yellow! blooms high summer. will have to get a pic posted of the bronze foliage plants...they've been seriously chewed by something...

sorry D1...I didn't answer your question directly... it is an herbacious perennial... some consider it invasive... I didn't plant mine ...it came from the neighbour's garden under the fence into the raspberry patch..(which also is an escapee!) I've become resigned to the fact that I will never be rid of either...so I welcome them...and let them get on as best they can.

Lori:
Intersting! Thanks for the information.
Well, if you're going to have a plant that's invasive
it's better to have a yellow flowering plant.

Love the yellow flowers. It is a shrub?
