Such a privilege - he's magnificent. I, like you, get many wildlife visitors in my yard and feel the same - it's a privilege to be that close even though you might lose a whole garden bed of flowers and leaves!!

wow, so much encouragement so quickly! Thanks everyone!
I can see a lot of potential in this website. Maybe it'll motivate me to actually develop the garden - if I can find the time. Just now I'm so busy, all my gardening efforts are going into raising plants to sell as a fundraiser for a local charity - every window-sill full of rhodochitons ! Meanwhile the woods are invading the old garden...
What a great way to share knowledge and enthusiasm . I'm slightly awed looking at the quality of the photos and the beautiful gardens - maybe it's just as well I've misplaced my camera ;)

Don't be awed - we all enjoy the photos no matter what they're taken with! There's lots of differing levels of expertise with the photos on this site, so you'll be at home here! Can't wait to see more of your garden.

Oh, Bernieh, it's not just the photographic expertise - its those beautiful well tended gardens full of amazing plants!
But don't worry for me, I can happily go the other way and document the neglect etc in my garden - it'll provide a healthy contrast and maybe generate some useful suggestions :)

Ha - believe me there are some of us who could certainly identify with you regarding neglect. It's only been in the last couple of years that I've taken a greater interest in the garden again - I could have posted some great photos of bad gardening not very long ago. I still have a couple of places that'll never make it onto this site!!!

Roe deer just below my balcony on a winter morning. I don't mind what shrubs he eats (usually a little of everything - he's not picky). It's a privilege to have such a distinguished guest :)
