It's a specie fuchsia from New Zealand. If you saw it, you wouldn't recognise it as a fuchsia. The plant is prostrate and the flowers are absolutely minute

This is said to be hardy here but I'm not sure. I had it many yrs ago but not now. I like the blue pollen. I have another with blue pollen called Lechlade Magician. It grows into a large bush.

I've had this one for 8 years now, it even survived being dug up and moved three years ago. Coped with -8C this winter without any problems. As it tends to layer itself, you could try it and pot up a piece in the autumn Hywel

I grew this from RHS seed a long time ago and could not believe it was a Fuchsia. It did not last though (although that might have been neglect)

New Zealand you say, I'm looking for this sort of thing for my New Zealand garden, can you recommend anywhere to get these species fuchsias?

I bought this one at Waterperry Gardens in Oxfordshire but I have seen it in the catalogue for Burncoose nursery in Cornwall (who offer mail order). For other suppliers, go to www.rhs.org.uk, click on the Plants tab, and use Plant Finder
