Wouldn't you like this to be your local with this tree in it?
Dunno what kind of tree it is, but I love 'em.

I've just looked it up on wikipedia, and your right it is, it is! I recognise it from the friut. Pandanus tectorius, Thanx Bernia.
I would love to grow one of these in my garden but apart from getting any seeds or a young plant, I doubt it would survive an English Autumn/Winter/Spring (Yes all three).
This is a very striking tree!
You've got some splendiferously fantabulous trees in Aus.

Yes I'm not sure it would survive frosts and snow being a tropical/subtropical tree. It is indeed striking especially when it's covered in its pineapple-like fruit.
