Our pond and pergola

After trying every other heron deterrent we ended up with a netted pergola. You can see the front net has been opened (runs on fishing line) but all the other sides are still netted - nowhere near as obtrusive as I'd imagined.

Interesting idea with the pergola protection...
Do you have any problems with small birds flying into the netting ?

Thanks for the comments. No we've not had any probems with small birds as they have no problem entering/exiting through the top. In fact the little bird table you can see has them queueing up to use it (see latest picture).
