This is my favorite suculent. It is growing at Quail Botanical Gardens and is about 12 feet / 3.5 meters tall. Photo taken July 7, 2009.

3 years later and after putting a lava rock mulch...its grown more in one year then in 10 its been there. Or 12 years. Not so much in height- but the leafs are much larger. All I did was mulch it.

One in my front yard. Hard luck..pickers and the 2007 winter have created a plant with a twisty driftwood like white trunk..and those red stems of a foot or so. Then it drops leaves in winter,and repeat.
