Lori mentioned how wood chips go flying when the Pili's are in action. Here is a huge pile of wood chips at the base of the black cherry tree in our back woods, where they have over a dozen holes.

I actually left the pile of mulch there. The tree was very much alive so the mulch had to season anyway. I may just let it be until it returns to earth. I don't think the ants would be in it then.
