We have bark nuggets delivered every three years. We broke up our clay soil and applied liberal amounts of concreting sand to loosen it. We then attacked the weeds and by mulching with bark are able to keep on top of the weeds - we don't tolerate them - "one year's seeding - seven years weeding"!
