bins of bark

bins of bark

These are the bins we use to put the bark nuggets in. We get some every three years. We have to chose the time of year carefully - in the winter is best - before the bulbs are through. Any spare bark is put into large sacks and stored behind the shed. We need some spare as we occasionally re-landscape an area. If the soil is left without a bark covering it tends to get lots of weeds. The soil condition has improved considerably, but we find that some plants are not happy in the loosened soil - polyanthus, particularly.
