I built this on both sides of a shed to utilize the space better.

The Salvia is just budding.I thought this would gorw fast, but it seems slow in settling in.
The Dianthis almost died from the heat but after the heavy rainfall it's doing much better.I hope it spreads.

I like this idea. I did raised beds this year, but not tiered. What a nice look. Whereabouts in Canada are you? I am in BC, an hour east of Vancouver. We have had the heat wave here too, but I don't know how far the heat wave went.

You're right about it being a gardener's paradise, Rhodea. I admit after living in Texas for a few years, I am going kinda nuts with the planting and stuff. I love how green it is here. No offense to Texas, it was unique and had it's own beauty...including the birth of my two boys. But, I am a northwest gardener and had no idea how to work with the climate down south.

You're so lucky to live there! You have so many choices of what to grow.I can only dream of them here.
Your climate is mostly moist and lots of sunshine, which is perfect for plants, shrubs etc.

Anything I try to grow seems to happily thrive. I am really blessed. I haven't tried any tropicals yet, but I think I am going to try my hand at it next spring.

Tropicals would definetely grow there.
