Hi guys,
This blog is not strictly about my garden but…I went on a walk the other week near the Hitchin Lavender fields just up the road from me. These are situated in the lovely village of Ickleford, and they have farmed there for over 100 years. In fact I am lucky enough to keep my horse just up the road and we also love to hack on the bridleways near these fields. The smell is beautiful and the colour is electric! Do you have any favourite areas near you to go walking/ running/ riding?

I've travelled round France on a motorbike and down south you could always tell you were near the Lavender because the smell hit you long before you could see them. They also "cooked" the lavender to get the oil out beside the roads so when I smell Lavender it does take me back!!

I love the smell of lavender. I grew a lot from seeds this year. There are lots of places around here to go for walks :o)
