GARDENING

my garden a year ago was a mess ,being a council property when they built the new houses they buried the old rubble under the lawn, which is a pain as every now and then when i turn the soil over i unearthed house bricks and breeze blocks. As a result nothing much grows in my garden, my idea was to have a low maintenance garden where i had to build boxes up and have them as my planters, which has worked really well and dotted them around the garden to cover the bad areas. My garden on the one side sloped very bad and full of rubble,so we decided to do the decking and also somewhere i can place more pots.Ididnt relise gardening could be so fun and not that expensive, and also can create amazing results, and instant in some of my projects.Idont class myself as a person with green fingers at all,but have been really lucky in the things i have started off as seed has developed quite well in regards to friut and veg, plus a little help from the answers i have recieved from many viewers,as long as my friend the slugs keep away i will do fine.anyone got any hedgehogs i borrow :)

Thats just the way I feel. I am now hooked on gardening, its so rewarding. Last year we started with pumpkins and actually suprised ourself with the results. We got two, and they tasted very good in pumpkin pies (x2). Before that we have had herbs growing. Last year, because my pumpkin plants where like children to me (practically), I was researching the internet about growing pumpkins and found this website, and ever since then I have found the garden such an adventure. There is so much I could do with it, if only I had more time at home. We have lots of veggies this year growing. I put some photos on here today of my raised bed showing what my veggies look like to date. I just hope that everything I planted makes as good eating as my pumpkins did last year. I love it!

I'm glad you're enjoying your garden. I don't think there's such a thing as green fingers. It depends how interested and enthusiastic you are, so just keep on enjoying it and you'll grow lots of wonderful things :o)
I saw a hedgehog last night. I hope he eats some slugs for me lol.
