This was in a formal garden. It was a very pretty plant. I looked it up for FL and they can get up to 12 ft high here, but this one was about 5 ft.

Hi Delonix, I just took this pic yesterday. We have local formal garden that I like to go visit and this was one of the plants they didn't have marked. So thank you for identifying it. It is a pretty plant. :)
I would say it was around 5 ft tall give or take. They had another plant right next to it that was very similar, but had mottled leaves. Maybe a different variety? I haven't posted the pic of it yet.

Gardengem,
Thanks for posting the information.
I've always grown Acalypha species...they are one of my favorite plants.
The mottled leaf Acalypha was probably the species, wilkesiana. Acalypha wilkesiana has many variegated varieties. It is the most widely grown species of Acalypha grown in Southern California.

What else?
See who else is growing Acalypha hispida (Chenille plant).
See who else has plants in genus Acalypha.
This photo was taken at Hollis Garden.
