Acer 'sango-kaku'

Acer 'sango-kaku' (Acer palmatum)

...out of the acers i have i really do think i like this one best...and this was the cheapest of them all and the easiest to get going and by far the nicest shape and colour...... just goes to show 'you get what you pay for' not always true. if i remeber correctly i paid £4 for this in QD 2 years ago.

thanks Milky, it is lovely and it does change with the seasons, the new growth you may have already seen is all sorts of oragnes and yellows, this time of year this lovely pale lemon/yellow colour then moving on into summer it turns to lime green then autumn is back to orange and yellow.....oh and did i mention the twig is a bit on the red side too so has a little bit of winter interest..i think it is also know as the 'coral bark' tree, so a little something for all seasons.

Lovely colour, lovely leaf shape.
When this tree reaches 6-8 feet tall and has a trunk width of 6 inches its going to be stunning.
Not that it isn't already.
