My desert rose is having sporadic flowering through the very hot weather we're still having. However, we may finally get some cooler weather [low 70's F or low 20's C. instead of 90ºF (32ºC)] for highs, for a couple days next week. YAY! Photo taken Oct. 27, 2015.

Yesterday it was a nice 80ºF (27ºC), today it's only 70ºF (21ºC) and we're freezing! LOL!

Today it's really cool only in the upper 60's. Last night we had 5 hrs of very heavy thunderstorms and record rains for San Diego. It was much-needed rain, though. :>))

Thanks. I do have three 55 barrels where I catch water. All my barrels were filled up last night. I was so happy! The warm to hot weather will return by the weekend.
With the historic, extreme drought here, pretty much everyone fills big buckets or barrels when it rains. We need every drop.

Enjoy the rain as much as your plants will..

Sandra:
We should have a lot of rain this year. The "Super or Mega" El Niño this year is forecasted to bring us a 200 percent of normal rainfall. The ocean temp off our coast is the warmest recorded, ever (for this time of year). It's still averaging 74ºF (24ºF) now. Last month it was averaging close to an amazing 80ºF (27ºC). Even in the strongest El Niño on record back in 1997-98 the ocean was no where near this warm. The amount of tropical fish off San Diego's coast is overwhelming. Fishermen have been catching record numbers of Wahoo, Yellowfin tuna, Bluefin tuna. There was a Blue Marlin caught just off the coast of San Diego last month (Marlin is usually caught off the tip of Baja California, which is in the tropics). The list of exotic fish goes on-and-on.

Thanks. :>) There's many interesting plants which can grow in my very mild subtropical climate.
