What was once common...now you can appreciate them grown well. I compare to Bergenia that was the 60's James Bond ,Go-Go's and Mini skirt popular plant. Planted in every Motel and car lot,city plantings.
I never see it now. From everyplace to no place.

I like Bergenias, but so does deer. Tastes come and go. People are like sheep. Do you remember the Cabbage patch dolls? People would kill each other in the stores when they were introduced. Now, you cannot even give them away in the garage sale. My OH calls the bergenia leaves cabbage like, that's why my association with the doll. I guess.
