Allium 'Cristophii' (Allium cristophii (Ornamental onion))

this has got to be the larges flower head on one of these that i have every seen it is about a foot wide.

Amazing! I made the mistake of planting mine too far back in the border, but they are in pots sunk in the ground, so I can move them.

i did just the same thing Spritz last year, i moved them closer to the front and bought a few more bulbs in the autumn, so i now have them everywhere :-) but then they even look good when the flowers die don't they. and Arlene i bet that is a good afternoon out - i would imagine that she grows them from seed? i collected some seed and i have sown some of the other varieties that i have and they have come up lovely, i would like to try these and the shebertii that i collected seed from, thing is i think they take ages to reach flowering size...oh well i have been asking the good LORD to give me paitence...lol...some will certainly be need for this
