No it is only about 16" high. I think it is the shortest Astrantia.

There are three flowers there I just could not get a better shot of them. They last a long time in a vase.

Very pretty. I had problems with it when I grew it many years ago, but as it was competing with a large hedge for nutrients, I think that was the probably the reason.

I think it likes moist but well drained sites in full sun or preferably some shade but always sheltered. I planted A. Shaggy last year in an east facing more sheltered border in front of a 4' wall. It has taken off like a rocket. I dead headed it and got a second flush of flowers which i hope will self seed to give me a much bigger patch.

This one struggles in my garden. I will have to dig it up and put it in the same border as the Shaggy because it is flowering its socks off and I have only had it since last August. This one has been there for at least 4 years and I the best I have seen it is with two stems. The year before last it did not show at all and I thought I had lost it. I had 2 stems last year but only one so far this year. It is a favourite for flower arranging.
