It's looks nice now, but like many bulbs the leaves look very untidy once they start to die back.

I have the same frustration with these as you guys - lovely blooms, scrappy foliage. I use herbaceous perennials around them which grows over the foliage.
One clump though has Gaura growing over it and that does a good job too.

We have a variegated variety, but not in flower yet....agree very much like Alliums with their scruffy foliage.

I have it as well Andrew, and it is planted with my colchicums which leaves are also very untidy and the Japanese poppies...very unsightly after they done blooming. I planted some tall phlox in between that it would draw the eye on it and also cutting the yellow leaves in half. They re-bloom just fine.
Mine is not yet in full bloom like yours.
