Chamaecyparis pisifera Filifera Aurea

Chamaecyparis pisifera Filifera Aurea (Chamaecyparis pisifera (Sawara cypress))

This golden foliage will brighten the garden all year around. I have replaced a miscanthus which just didn't grow well at all...I think it is just not warm enough here for a lot of grasses.

I took another failing grass out of the pot behind and to the left and replaced it with a Rose of Sharon. I'll take a photo of that one when it is in flower. It's a bit dull at the minute. I also got some bedding plants and some yellow lupins for my big black pots. I'll take pics of them in a couple of weeks when they've filled out a little.

It looks very nice in the dark pot.

Thanks both of you. I was just wishing I had chosen another colour of pots...something a little softer...maybe green even...but the black is very dramatic with the yellow.

Also be careful with the sun Karen, I fried few plants in black pots. They attract heat and cook the roots. But
Chamaecyparis pisifera does best in part shade anyway.

Thanks Klahanie. Here in Scotland we don't have to worry about too much heat...sadly!
