This Autograph tree is blooming in Balboa Park, San Diego, CA.
It's called Autograph tree because people write their names in the plastic-like leaves. Photo taken August 1, 2010.

Yes, it grows very fast and big with lots of aerial and surface roots. I had seen some growing in the Bay Area; however, I always killed my plants outside there.
This posted plant is very large now. It was cut back because the branches were in the walk way.

I grew it in a greenhouse..never did bloom. And it was a big 15 gallon plant with Ficus like roots.
