'Chocolate Cosmos'

'Chocolate Cosmos' (Cosmos atrosanguineus)

I just have to have one in the garden each year, although so often they prove not to be hardy.

That is a lovely colour, I grew some from seeds this year but only four left the slugs demolished the others;0(

Do you need more than four anyway? Look on it like that. :-/

Have you tried Chocolate Flower (Berlandiera lyrata), Spritz? It's hardier to cold, but it does need good drainage and lots of sun. Not that seductive mahogany color, either. Still smells like chocolate, though!
