Cotinus

Cotinus (Cotinus coggygria (Smoke bush))

I love the deep colour of the leaves against the light wall. This photo doesn't do it justice.

Although mine is in the border and huge, I have never had any smoky plumes of flowers.

Good in a blue pot, too. A bit like my copper beech bonsai, also in a blue pot.

Yes, you need sunshine on those leaves to really show it off. Gorgeous when in flower too :)

I have just noticed my Cotinus is flowering, not smoky plumes, but clusters of small yellowy ones.

What else?

See who else is growing Cotinus coggygria (Smoke bush).

See who else has plants in genus Cotinus.

This photo is of "Cotinus coggygria Royal Purple" in Homebird's garden
