Growing your own saffron...may take a few years to get a decent crop!

i cheat to colour rice I pop in marigold petals in the summer and tumeric in the winter. But I have grown it coz of the time of year it flowers. and not many do grow it.
it should be a better known plant in my humble opinion.

it makes things easier all round. I still get the girls to write a letter to father christmas s i know what things they would like rather than the things i'd like to get them. mostly the lists match :o)
