Artichoke flower heads

Artichoke flower heads (Cynara cardunculus (Globe Artichoke))

Five young Artichoke heads so far on this plant, used as a decorative. The leaves, although large, are greeny/white, and the flowers purple.

The bees love the big purple flowers heads the foliage is attractive to !

The flowerheads are spectacular, unfortunately mine is always covered in blackfly, usually zap them with a fierce water jet.
