This is a sight for sore eyes - looks as if I'll have my first Datura flower of the year tomorrow!

Excellent photo. You have proved that not all macros are bad. (I have a thing about them)

Thanks John & Vincent.

John - you should see it when it's out!

Vincent - I used the standard 18/55 mm lens for this. I'm saving up for a macro, but there's no point having one without the ring flash too, so I'm looking at six or seven hundred quid in total!

Oooch!

when it's out? is this not even the fully flowered thing?! amazed.

Vincent - the thing about macro is that it shows up everything, especially shadows where they're not wanted, so there's no point skimping. Trouble is that money is better spent elsewhere at the moment.

John - the next photo along is the opened flower. I'll put a photo up later showing the textures of it.

What else?

See who else is growing Datura innoxia (Angels Trumpet).

See who else has plants in genus Datura.
