This is not so good of a photo of Royal Poinciana flowering. Unfortunately, the new growth was covering many of the flowers. I should have gotten a good pic about two months ago. Photo taken August 9, 2017.

Did the city actually plant that? Or do you think somebody(non official) planted it?

According to the person across the street. A man brought back seed from Acapulco, Mexico. It was planted in the mid-to-late 1990's. The man died several years ago according to neighbor.

That a lovely shape shame the growth was hiding most of the flowers nut I can see some.
