Yes same problems over here as they grow to be enormous trees - we're lucky this one is not too close to our house or driveway. Those roots spread like that for around seven metres all over the fowl pen (the ducks hate it and avoid that area most of the time).

These trees are so commonly planted here...it's amazing!
They are always planted in the wrong spots where their root get into
pipes and lift sidewalks and even the occasional house (foundation). LOL!!! It's true though.
