Alpine for full sun in a well-drained soil with some humus content. In warmer areas, shade from hot summer sun. Forms mats up to a foot across.

DD - it's in my raised alpine bed to get the drainage, and to keep the slugs off. It is also covered with a pane of glass over the winter to keep the rain off.
