Fran - this is an alpine that likes sun and well-drained soil, although the soil should not dry out. The photo shows just one of several, sprawling 'arms' on my plant. In total, it is almost eighteen inches across and about six inches high. This is about fully grown (in four years), although the species is a bit variable
