Hamamelis in flower - January 2009 (Hamamelis x intermedia (Witch hazel))

For such small flowers the scent on a dry still Winter's day is remarkable.

It is an amazing gift..all round...starting with it's shape and its gnarly limbs..I love witch hazel for it's healing properties when needed...nothing soothes so well as a cloth soaked in witch hazel from a bottle I have kept in the fridge, when an allergy causes hives etc.. overdosed on B2 once broke out in blisters around my neck...Madam Witch Hazel was a life saver.....
