This hellebore is over 40 years old ( or is a division). It was bought from a nursery near Bath as Helleborus autrorubens Early purple. It is deciduous and about 12" tall. I think it is now called H. Orientalis abchasicus.

We used to live in Bath, so this was moved in April, and again around the garden. I also move clumps from the side to the main garden.
My Hellebore book recommends division in September as that is when they make new roots: to rejuvenate tired clumps, lift the whole clump and discard the old centre piece.
Good luck!!!
