Variegated Hydrangea

Variegated Hydrangea (Hydrangea macrophylla (Hortensia))

They have a reputation for reverting and not flowering well but they still look cool. Someone sent me a cutting of Mariesii Variegata at the end of last summer and told me it was stable and flowered well, hope they're right!

This one I would like to have in my collection. I read about it, but did not see it anywhere around.

I've not seen this one offered for sale at any nurseries where I live either. The only variegated one I see offered for sale anywhere is 'Lemon Wave' and I've only seen that once or twice. The variegation looks nice on it but we grew them at the wholesale nursery I worked for and they weren't very stable and didn't flower well. Also sensitive to cold, at least here anyways. Still looks nice though, they remind me of hostas.

What else?

See who else is growing Hydrangea macrophylla (Hortensia).

See who else has plants in genus Hydrangea.

This photo is of "Hydrangea macrophylla 'Mariesii Variegata'" in Rkwright's garden
