Hydrangea macrophylla 'Shooting Star'

Hydrangea macrophylla 'Shooting Star' (Hydrangea macrophylla)

I bought this as an indoor plant and decided to try it outside last fall. I love the flowers on this, it is probably the same as 'Fuji Waterfall'

I'm not a fan of Hydrangea, but this one is lovely!

There are some interesting looking hydrangeas I have seen recently, one of them is Pistachio and I had heard of it before but never seen it in person. My favorite is still Miyama-yae-murasaki (Purple Tiers) but this is probably the most unique looking that I have. The flowers open a little pink (might be hard to tell in the picture) but they look even nicer when they are blue, it stands out more.

Just googled H. Miyama-yae-murasaki, I have to admit the flowers are very pretty. H. Pistachio is just not my cup of tea.

Pistachio isn't one I'd go for either but there are so many hydrangeas that look exactly the same and I like that Pistachio has something different to offer.

Have you seen the one called 'Glam Rock'?

Yeah it's exactly the same as Pistachio just different trade names. Kind of like 'Shooting Star' and 'Fuji Waterfalls' being the same plant with different names.
