Ixora coccinea 'Maui Red'

Ixora coccinea 'Maui Red' (Ixora coccinea 'Maui Red')

My Maui Red Ixora is growing and blooming after it almost died this spring because I over fertilized it. Photo taken Sept. 5, 2010.

HA, I've learned my lesson!!! I fertilize with a measuring spoon now.

Ouch! Been there, done that! I'm always telling people to fertilize, but I always warn them that it's better to have a little too little fertilizer, than a little too much. I seriously burned one of my ficus trees this year when the timed release food I used synchronized all it's "tiny little time capsules". Takes them forever to recover!

I rarely fertilize. This plant was blooming so well through last winter I decided to fertilize it...which was a big mistake.
