Many Jacaranda trees cover the San Diego Zoo...these trees are mostly past peak blooming. Photo taken June 9, 2009.

It's unfortunate the color cannot be completely seen well from a photo. When the photo is uploaded it loses a lot of it's quality.

Everytime a see a pic of the Jacarandas blooming I think I'm looking at a surrealist painting! That has to be one of the most beautiful colours I've seen in nature...
