Fingers crossed for you. They're too lovely to become snail food!

Yes, I agree. I checked my plant yesterday and it's just starting to bloom.
When I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area, I used to see very old, huge Justicia carnea (about 8ft tall by 8ft wide) blooming and they were extremely spectacular! My largest plants were only 6ft/2m tall when I lived in the Bay Area.
I have never seen the very large plants like in the S. F. Bay Area here in San Diego.

I've only ever seen the yellow ones reach around 2 metres, but I saw those a lot further south.

Yes, Justicia aurea (Yellow Jacobinia) can grow to 12ft/3.7m or taller. My plant in the back yard is more than 6ft/2m tall.

What else?
See who else is growing Justicia carnea (Paradise Plant).
See who else has plants in genus Justicia.

It's looking good! Mine is starting to bloom, also. I'm hoping the snails won't eat the flowers before I can enjoy them.
