Paulthegardener, I have posted some other photos in the past. They are very beautiful trees and can grow much larger.

Yes, I absolutely love a good mango. I agree -- It is the fruit of the gods!
I have seen old trees in Hawaii over 120 feet/ 38 meters tall and with almost
the same spread with thousands of fruit. It is an amazing sight! Here in San Diego I've heard of 40 foot/ 13 meters tall mangoes, however, they are usually seen around 15 - 20 feet/ 4.6 - 6 meters tall. It's easier to pick the fruit.

Andy...I never dreamt they could get so huge......I dont think this one will, but it will be interesting to see how far it developes. I dont think that we have enough heat over here to do it justice.....Thanks for showing me........

Yes, they become a huge, monstrous tree in the hot tropics. In a 15 gallon pot a mango tree can grow to be at least 10 feet / 3.3 meters tall.

Hello,
I'm a transplant from South Florida and would really like to know the exact location of this tree. This means I could actually grow mangos in San Diego, and what about Lychee Fruit ?
Thanks in advance....

There's actually a lot of mango trees in San Diego. I've posted some mango trees in the past here on GoY.
The posted mango tree above is in Point Loma.
Here's some of my mango pics on GoY.

Lychee has been grown in San Diego since around 1890, from what I've read. There's supposedly trees more than 100 years old here. However, I've never seen large trees here like in Hawaii.

Mangoes - fruit of the gods! I grew up in a town called Bowen which is home to the famous Bowen mango - the trees grew in our backyards and we would gorge on the fruit all through summer along with mulberries. Our mango trees would grow to be around this tall and would be covered in fruit.
