Monarda

meanie

By Meanie

Monarda (Monarda didyma (Bergamot))

After a truly crappy day at work, I went out with my camera and came up with this shot of a singular Monarda flower on a head that is just about to burst into full bloom.

Thank you Mushy.
Yes, it's in a large raised bed and running rampant!

I do love these but wasn't sure if it was hardy

They certainly seem hardy, but also a little fickle. I gave Sue a couple of divisions - both had a good and productive summer, the clump in the ground disappeared over the winter (despite being in a sheltered spot), but the clump in a six inch deep wooden trough flourishes, to the point of being invasive!
Mine are not in a sheltered spot either, but will need dividing again this year.
