This Split-leaf-Philodendron is growing up a very tall tree fern in the Botanical Building, Balboa Park, San Diego, CA. Photo taken Feb. 23, 2010.

Is is Victorian style. However, it has only a few walls to support the heavy steel frame which holds all the redwood laths. It's a big lath-structure...it has no heating...and in parts of this structure you can see plant growing through the laths. I'm almost positive it's not as large as Kew. It is one of the largest lath structures in the world though. This website will give you some information.

Winter is a really good time to take photos here in San Diego, CA...because many of of the interesting tropical/subtropical trees/plants bloom at this time of the year.

This Botanical Building is probably like the ones in our beautiful Kew Gardens in London,Andy.....
