I've never thought of growing a Paeony in a pot. I thought they grew very big so have never bought one. After seeing this maybe I'll have a go.

I would never have done it either, Hywel, but as my son & daughter-in-law bought it for me what else could I do? Nevertheless I suppose it will last a couple of years in the pot I've put it in &, if it survives, get a bigger pot then & repot it.

What else?
See who else is growing Paeonia lactiflora (Peony).
See who else has plants in genus Paeonia.

Another delicate color. Peonies were not common here until recently. Today they have become the darling of brides, I believe this is due to their use in confectionery for wedding cake decoration.
At the moment I am waiting for the peony seedlings to appear in the flower shops. Here they bloom in May and June, but so far I have not found any.
