Biggest I've seen. Very dense canopy.

Maybe. Some must go back a 100 years at least. This is in Palma Ceia ( hence tall washy's) and probably dates to the late 60's is my guess. Maybe 20 years after the home was built.
Never seen the Stanford Campus. One day.

Most likely this avocado tree dates back to 1954 or 1955 when these homes were built. The reason why I say this is because the size of the trunk is very large.

Somebody else told me he's seen even bigger in Hayward.
I really should know better than to say "biggest" plant.

I've definitely seen avocado trees much larger in Hayward. There's some huge ones going out to the old Eden district close to the bay.

See who else is growing Persea americana (Avocado).
See who else has plants in genus Persea.

It's a large tree. I have seen much larger trees up there in the SF Bay Area. Did you ever see the monster avocado tree next to the chapel at Stanford University?
