No offence,after all,any plant is only a weed if you don't want it growing where it is.These used to be called Polygonum,but are now either Persicaria or Fallopia.Stay away from Fallopia,as that's Japanese knotweed,almost impossible to remove.Some Persicaria can spread quickly,so pick the right one.This one forms good size clumps but doesn't run.

It's lovely, I like the way it grows, it's tall straight, lovely green and a lovely filler.
Yes indeed your right about a weed being something you dont want. Or it grows too quickly. In other words uncontroble! That what I'd call a weed anyway.

Is this considered a flower or a weed? Sorry if I ofend u or the plant! I just came back from Ireland ( the home land ) and I saw this growing in all the gardens I went to see. While growing up in Ireland I had never seen it. I like it though.
