Primula vialii

Primula vialii (Primula vialii)

These do well in part shade or sun in my garden. These get a bit more sun and are a few weeks ahead of the others in shadier spots.

Now, I've tried a few times to grow this but it always disappears over winter. The two taller ones look as if they're having a chat across the garden fence!

They do don't they. I've been giving mine a mulch of ericaceous compost in Autumn each year and they've never failed. I read somewhere that they need a deep moist but well drained planting position. Maybe the extra layer of compost gives the some protection or I've just been lucky :)

Will try to remember if/when I try them again.
