Pritchardia hillebrandii - Loulu Palm

This is a mature Loulu palm in the Botanical Building in Balboa Park, San Diego, CA. My plant which I posted yesterday is a very young palm. Photo taken Feb. 23, 2010.

Palmate:
It can grow to almost 50 ft (15m); however, this one is more like 30ft (10m) tall. The ceiling laths in this section of the Botanical Building are around 40ft (12m), in the middle section they go up to 60ft (18m) high.
