I sowed some seeds, given by Simbad (thanks a lot :-), sometime in Sep (or Oct?) 2010 and they flowered for the first time!

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw these flowers! Quite remarkable they survived the very harsh winter this year: the lowest temperature went down to minus 17 degrees!!

Well done Tommymoo :-) they look brilliant!!!!!!!, my absolute favourite salvia, remember the first time I saw these flowers unfold too, they look so exotic don't they and last for ages :-)

Thank you so much Simbad!

They didn't flower last year, therefore I thought I had lost them completely! (But unfortunately it seems I lost other salvias I planted next to them.) When I looked at the huge leaves in May, I thought they were weeds! You are absolutely right, the buds looked very exotic, rather striking and unusual, they looked like green shrimps or something lol. Thanks again Simbad :D
