This umbrella tree is growing over the lagoon area at the Paradise Point Resort, San Diego, CA. Photo taken Feb. 28, 2013.

It can grow much taller. Trees more than 50ft (16m) isn't too unusual, in Southern California. In its native northern Queensland, Australia, it can grow to more than 100ft (30m) tall.
