love the colour and the throat , dont know anything about these , full sun well drained ? even after all these years gowning all sorts still more to find out about ....

Gnarlyg. They are grown from corms, a tad bigger than a crocus corm, full sun, well drained. Bought from Home Base, pkt 20, april. Although supposed to be frost hardy, I had only got red left. If they produce seed I propagate them just in case, that is why I was hoping for other colours.

Reminders are so useful. I must have at least 20 on my to do list.

I only found out how to do this the other day by accident and I have been using this site for ages lol
plus the adding plants is useful with names dates etc

And other details, eg height, and where you put them !!

or buried them lol

In that case a label is necessary.

12 Aug, 2015

I have a family of magpies that like to pull them out !!!
It started with one and the children must of learnt the trick !! even if tied on I have seen them pulling at the labels.

I even sprinkled chili powder on them one year lol

I had to wait for the daylilys to flower to see what they are called , very annoying .

I don't think they make the labels like they use to, I am finding them quite shiny. Pencil then rubs off or indelible pen fades to blank.

agree some/most of the pens useless I have to re do them every 6 months , I bought a brother garden labeler now that has been good , but it produces so much waste , I got a replacement reel from ebay so much cheaper. plus it getS on my nerves typing in the letters and my fingers are huge compared to the size of the keys lol and the instructions so small I need a hand lezs to read them and then it drives me crazy trying to understand the different font sizes to get to work properly wwwwaaaa

Bought pkt of 100 black labels for my Iris, have only got about 20 left. Very time consuming doing them, did about 3 a day. Started with a huge name, nearly gave up after doing that one!
